INDIVIDUAL  GIVING

Your tax-deductible contribution plays a critical part today and in the future.

Annual Fund
The easiest way to make a contribution to the Museum

Each year the Museum seeks unrestricted funds from members, friends and supporters. These unrestricted dollars provide annual operating income and are critical in helping the Museum fulfill its mission. A gift in any amount makes a significant difference in the level of services that we can provide to our visitors.

Your gift could be worth even more if your company participates in a matching gifts program. Please check with your human resources office to see if your company participates in this program.

Gifts of Stock
It's simple to give a gift of stock and a great way to use your assets to benefit the Museum.

There are several ways to transfer stocks and securities to the Fort. The easiest and most frequently used method is by electronic funds transfer. To arrange a transfer, you or your broker should contact the Fort Benton Restoration Committee c/o The River & Plains Society at (406) 622-5316 to obtain the proper information.

Tribute Gifts
Honor or commemorate family or friends with a gift.

One of the nicest ways to celebrate a special occasion for a family member or friend is to make a contribution to the Fort  in their honor.

You may wish to remember someone who appreciated the work at the Fort, Fort Benton's history, or Montana during their lifetime with a memorial gift to the Fort.

A gift card will be sent to the honoree or to their family indicating your thoughtful gift to the Museum.

Planned Giving
Ensure the Museum's future by providing for it in your estate plans.

You can make a difference to the future of Historic Old Fort Benton by planning now. Gift planning uses tax laws to enable you to pursue your philanthropic goals while minimizing your cost of giving and maximizing the benefits to yourself and your family.

One of the simplest ways to support the Fort is through a bequest provision in your will. Bequests can be specific or residual. Other options to consider include charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts as well as gifts of property or insurance.

We strongly urge donors considering a planned gift to consult their personal advisors about tax implications.
