Step Into a Montana Prairie Town

Walk down the street of a turn-of-the-century rural community at Homestead Village. Many of the historic buildings were moved here from abandoned homestead-era towns, then restored and furnished to bring early prairie life back into view.

Explore a country church, bank, drug store, City Hall, one-room schoolhouse, mercantile, and three generations of prairie homes. Together, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the communities built by Montana’s early homesteaders.

Homestead Village is located at the Museum of the Northern Great Plains & Montana Agricultural Center complex and is included with museum admission.
